Buyers of LG electronics across East Africa will now enjoy faster and more convenient after-sales services following the launch of the LG Best Care Trailer

Nairobi Kenya

5th September 2025

Buyers of LG electronics across East Africa will now enjoy faster and more convenient after-sales services following the launch of the LG Best Care Trailer, a 40-foot mobile customer support unit designed to deliver technical assistance and repairs directly to consumers. The initiative will cover Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and potentially Zambia. The trailer was officially unveiled at an Hotel in Nairobi by LG Electronics East Africa President, Donghun Lee, alongside OPALNET Limited executives.

The launch comes at a time when demand for LG products has surged across the region, with households increasingly investing in premium appliances such as smart TVs, refrigerators, and AI-powered washing machines.Globally, LG has maintained a dominant position in the premium TV market, with OLED shipments accounting for 57.5% of global market share in 2024. The company recorded a total of 22.6 million TV shipments worldwide last year, representing 16.1 percent of global TV market revenue. This performance reflects LG’s strong brand presence across multiple product lines, including laundry and built-in appliances. To meet the rising demand and enhance customer experience, the LG Best Care Trailer will travel across various neighborhoods in Nairobi, including Eastlands, South B, Kasarani, Westlands, and Kilimani. Customers can look forward to convenient weekly stopovers, with locations announced on LG East Africa’s social media channels.

Equipped with diagnostic tools, spare parts, and skilled technicians, the mobile unit will provide on-site product assessments, minor repairs, and customer guidance on proper usage and maintenance. This eliminates the need for customers to travel to service centers, saving them both time and money.

“The LG Best Care Trailer brings expert support directly to our customers’ doorsteps, ensuring that their appliances continue to function efficiently while reducing the hassle of accessing centralized service points,” said Donghun Lee, President of LG Electronics East Africa.

Beyond after-sales service, the trailer also has a multi-purpose function. It features a moving LED billboard, a stage with sound and lighting for talent showcases, and will serve as a platform for community engagement and corporate social responsibility activities across the region.

According to the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics, Nairobi has a population of more than 4.5 million people, with about 70 percent relying on public transportation. For many households, accessing centralized service centers can be time-consuming and costly. The trailer seeks to address this gap by decentralizing service delivery and reducing turnaround times.

“At LG, customer satisfaction does not end at the point of sale but continues across the lifetime of the products through reliable, responsive after-care. The LG Best Care Trailer reflects this commitment,” said Ronald Mitei, Service Director at LG Electronics East Africa.

Following the pilot phase in Nairobi, LG plans to expand the trailer’s operations to other major towns such as Mombasa, Kisumu, and Nakuru, before rolling it out to neighboring markets in Uganda, Tanzania, and Zambia.Customers can stay updated on trailer routes, service hours, and product maintenance tips by following @LGEastAfrica on X, Facebook, and Instagram.
